How does that use the gas tank outlet?

Plenty of ideas for the underseat space, I'm looking for a creative use for the outlet.

Continiung with the water tank idea....

How hard would it be to build a heat exchange for on-board hot water? Is it just a matter of wrapping some copper tubing (For the water) around a section of pipe with the engine coolant flowing through it?

I can buy an whole onboard shower setup for around $300....which includes the heat exchanger. I was hoping to find a low-buck way to build one. I know I've heard of guys doing it, but can't dig anything up on the web.

A good friend of mine built one. Small diameter copper tubing (1/2", maybe). Filled it with sand and wrapped it around a broom handle. Placed this inside a large copper pipe (2" maybe). Installed two barbed fittings in the 2" pipe for heater hoses. Plumbed in a small water pump from Northern Tool and Equipment, which will pull water from a pond or other source, or you can hook it up to a garden hose.

Pretty slick set-up. He's no plumber or anything either. Took a common-sense approach and built it. It's really cool (errr... hot!).

Ah...so the engine water passes over the coils with the potable water in it. That makes sense.

So the engine water flows out the ends of the 2" tube, where does the 1/2" tube enter and exit? Through the sides of the 2"? Just soldered for a seal?

Oh, Jeez! How come you guys make me ask all the really stoopid questions? Huh?

First off, you keep calling it the gas tank OUTLET. I'm all screwed up. I been puttin' gas IN the thing you call the outlet. At least going by the pix I see here, anyhow. No wonder I used to get such lousy mileage. Or is it because that thing leaks, too?

Secondly, if I was able to get the hang of the proper terminology of this quiz, why couldn't we just replumb the general area in dispute, and use it for, say, extra gas? I, well, my Jeep could use extra gas. I have plenty. Obviously.

Ok, Inlet.... Unless your Jeep is leaning to the driver's side, in which case it's also an outlet....;)

No need for another gas tank -not only will the original one not fit due to the rollcage, I don't like having a gas tank in the cabin. Bad experiences there with leaks in the past.

Not sure how the 4.3 will be on gas once injected, but with the :v6: I never had a need for more fuel. Even on all-day trail runs I came back with 1/3 of a tank left.
