I just traded my lifted cherokee for a 68 cj5 and have serious buyers remorse

I say drive it just like it is. If your gonna get rid of it soon, just drive it. You definately did not trade down since the cj is desirable where the XJs can be had for a few hundred bucks if you look. Gives new meaning to DIME A DOZEN. The jeep looks pretty good, just spend a little time tweaking the brakes and steering and I think you find it is a good vehicle. Oh Avoid the Auto trans. Definately a bad deal. A big can of worms.

I also think you did alright, looks pretty decent to me. I have a '55 with a Chevy V8, the original Ross steering and the non-power drum brakes, but I upgraded my to 11" in the front. I drive it 70 miles round trip to work on an interstate without any problems. These old Jeeps are SUPER easy to work on. Yours just needs some tweaking. It'll just take some getting used to also.
