No brake lights or right rear turn signal. I guess it's time to install the EZ wiring harness. I hope it is.

Sounds like it! I'd bet on the original harness being broken somewhere along the frame rail, check by exhaust and any moving mechanical parts. I've had it come loose from the clips and sag low enough to burn on a tailpipe.

Check down by the steering box (if you still have Ross). All of the tailight wires have bullet connecter junctions there. Sometimes they come apart and/ or get dirty...

Do you have a meter? The inexpensive digital multimeters (DMMs) from the Shaque or your local electronics store are good. I have a WaveTek that I've used for many years - no need to buy a Fluke or such expensive meters. Either Meterman (WaveTek) or B&K are good brands; about $30. http://support.metermantesttools.com/meterman-sales/download/asset/1646345_a_w.pdf

Start at the taillights and test your grounds with the ohms setting and the volts with the DC volts setting. The problem could be in the wiring, the turn signal switch, brake light switch, or flasher relay. Get a wiring diagram if you can.

One of the previous owners made their own wiring harness. There are a lot of burnt wires and the hole thing doesn't inspire confidence in me. I've had the harness sitting in the garage for 2 months;instead of fixing whats there I'm just going to take the plunge and start installing the new harness. The old harness does not have any fuses.
