I got the Dana 20 mounted tonight. i have a problem with the shifter. I cannot put the tube in the holder on the Tcase becuase theree is a bung with a threaded hole in it on the side of the T98 case. There are two of them, they are on the passenger side, but they do nothing. i have bolts in them to seal them up. So can i grind the offending one off the case without causing damage to the Tranny case?? Here is a picture of the problem. the arrow points to the offending bung. Just wanted to make sure i wont end up cracking the case in half if i grind it off. I will seal it up with some epoxy after i am finished.

It's OK to grind them. Those bolts are used to hold the emergency brake lever when the T98 was used in a Ford truck.

If you remove the bung then all that will be left is a bung hole. Right? R)

I knew it was going to end up here ;)

Well it was way easier than i hoped. he trusty sawzall made it quick and left just a bunghole. but now it's epoxied and the Dana 20 linkage fits fine now. Onward with the install :)
