My Jeep manual is loaned out, looking for a socket size. I have read that the nut on the T-90 output shaft is 1-5/16 , 6 point. I also read (not here, couldn't find anything) that others have used a 1-1/4 and took the grinder to it :? (That just sounds odd) I only have an 1-1/8 socket which is too small.

I'm hitting the tool store and I don't want to drag in a trans... "what size is this?"

Maybe check Novak's website/knowledge base... or give them a call. Or call Herm... :?
just some ideas, don't want to see you strain your back tossing the T90/D18 up on the counter at the tool store ;)

Just a thought ... plastic vernier calipers, about $20, are one of the handiest measuring tools I own (second only to a 20' tape).

Ditto the calipers. No got? Make one. 12 inch crescent wrench; size to fit, measure with tape. No got 12 incher? Make caliper from cardboard off the back of a scratch pad; or the flat side of a square milk jug. Cut a 1 1/4 inch notch. Not big enough? New notch, next guess size, and so on. Lots of ways to guess pretty close when you don't have a better option. Can I borrow your manual? No got. Yet.

I think your right on the 1 5/16". I can check tonight. I've got one transfer case on the floor open and another on the workbench. Going by Sears today to pick up a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter so I can use my impact to break the nut loose.

    scratch the 1-1/4 nyloc
the shaft diam is only 3/4"
can't be for the T90 mainshaft
must be for t/case output shafts
go with the 1-5/16; that shaft diam is 1-1/16 or 1-1/8 diam
