Odd Discoloring On My Headers. Dauntless

    Some engines, with intake separating sides, have to be jetted different, left to right!
    Dual plane especially.
    And Lean causes heat, causing blue, not rich. Rich cools the exhaust.

    Ummmm Not so............At WOT , A lean mixture will create heat and perhaps even melt aluminum until it runs out of energy to burn , not going to happen at low rpm's.........on the other hand a rich mixture at low rpms as were talking about here will increase the cylinder exhaust temperatures as unburnt fuel burns outside of the combustion chamber in the pipe as it exits...............Check your pyrometers on your motor on the dyno...........known fact.
    As mentioned he should pull the mufflers off and look at the color inside the collector.........but I can already tell you it will not be white as a lean mixture would show.........

    The discoloration on #6 tube is how I found the bent rod on my V6.
