Glove box latch woes.......

    Anyone got an extra small hole latch?

    or willing to take one apart and get pics??????


    I cant go to tellico without it latching :rofl:

    What's wrong with running it like this?
    Been running my glove box like this for over 300 miles and nary a rattle. Besides, what you gonna put in there? Gloves? R)

    I could tell you a story about a certain Studebaker and the glove box...but I'll save you. Peter has a matchbook stuck in one of his Corvairs to keep it shut. :rofl:

    I'm sure someone can help you out. If not, just holler and I'll do it after our trail weekend.

    Did you try removing the offending mechanism and working with it?

    I didn't have a functional latch either. Or a box. But I had a door! Created a box out of tin, and screwed that in there. next was a "latch". captured nut, and a bolt. Welded a lug on for a "knob". Works well, ain't even close to stock. Doesn't rattle, and won't fall open.

    Billy, if you haven't seen what you are looking for by this evening, I'll post some pics of mine. (Haven't mastered that whole process just yet) It's not like any of these either. Smaller outside. The inside mechanism I prolly won't be taking apart for you, but mine just wanted a big dose of WD-40, and some excercise. Oh, and mine is a locking type.......Gotta run, here comes that nurse again..........
