Hey guys, anybody have one of these boxes??? I'm looking to replace my stock box that is wandering all over the road. I have checked this out and it's the box, not other steering components. What does a stock box cost??? I know that the AGR is expensive.
    Thanks

I have the AGR on the '78. Drives nicely. Don't know what else to say.

You may find a rebuilt stock box for less than half the cost of an AGR.

Or get a J-20 box. It's also the same one used in 87-95 YJ's.

Just as an aside, the J20 or Wagoneer boxes are very light - you can spin the wheel with your pinky if you want. I usually palm the wheel around tight corners in mine. The original CJ box is ok - you can probably get a rebuilt one at your FLAPS.

Later boxes are more durable - the S10 4WD box is popular with the Wagoneer crowd. Only has three bolts though, unlike the original 4-bolt style. Variable ratio.

I'm in the process of putting the AGR box on my Jeep. Don't know how it drives yet but it looks shiny and mean...

    Not cheap mind...
