I'm putting new clutches in my Dana 30 Power Lok, but I have a broken bolt for the case. Anyone know where I can find one? It doesn't seem smart to put it together with only 7 bolts.

    Size: 3/8-24 x 3", left hand thread.

Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions. I can find 3/8-24 LH threaded rod, but it won't be grade 8. I may try a local machinist.

Glad you found some...........how did you break a bolt?........those are pretty tough. How's the threads in the case?........if you think you stretched the bolt......might want to get a new set?

Basically, because I was stupid: With breaker bar in hand.... "Hmmm, that feels like I'm tightening it... SNAP. Yep." I didn't realize it was left hand threaded. I was lucky enough to get the broken end out relatively easily and without drilling it. I think the threads are fine. BTW do you know what the torque spec for these bolts is, for putting the case back together?

I'm not sure what Dana calls out on those bolts.........but a 3/8"x24 unplated is about 35-45......due to the length and the inherent stretching ....maybe on the greater side would be closer? condition of your threads both in the case and bolt is important for proper torque.
