Does anyone know what the stock ride height was, and where I should measure to determine how much the springs have sagged? The nephew has given me a deadline on having the CJ roadworthy, and I'm trying to factor in all the things that may be causing the death wobble on the highway. As I've posted in the distant past, I 'll be doing the obvious: tie rod ends, knuckle rebuild, etc. Already did the bell crank, still need to check out the gearbox. Too many other thing keep getting in the way of this project! I really suspect the springs factor into the picture, but don't want to replace them unless it's really necessary.
    Thanks,
    Megan

Here's some info that "might" be valuable if you can extrapolate:

    AMC specs for a 1973 CJ5:
    Overall height: 69.5"
    on the standard tires, 7.35 x 15

I suspect this measurement was at the highest point without a soft top: at the roll bar.

    Thanks, Lynn
I'll have to grab the old tape measure later and take a look. I suspect more than a bit of sag since '69!!
