Hi everybody. Spring is here and a young mans thoughts turn to Jeeps. R)

Anyhow. I scored a great price on four 16" rims this winter. On closer examination I have two that appear to be 16x4.5 and two that are 16x5.
I figure I'll just use the matched sets on each axle. My worry is what size tires to get when I order the NDT's I want. Any old timers around here know the appropriate size tire for these wheels??

    Jeep on!! ;) :stout:

My old Kaiser-Willys pickup book lists 7.00-16 for the 16x5 rim. Nothing for the 16x4.5 though. Now weither or not the factory CJ5 book list the same size for these rims, I have not a clue. Hopefully that will help ya a little.

    600, 650 or 700x16's would fit.

7.00 x 16 would be correct for the Early CJ-5. 6.00x16 was used on the CJ-2A and the MB/GPW.

Great! Thanks for the advice and info. Seems it's not critical, which is good. So I guess I can get some 7.00's and gain some gearing, which would be nice.
    Coker here I come! :)

Unless your going for the full resto look, I'd check with your local Cooper tire dealer. They list a 700-16 in their light truck tire line, I found it on their web site : coopertires.com IIRC. Probably an order item but it'd come with a reg stock order and save you big freight $$. Depends on the look/performance you want.
