I stopped by Willy's Overland yesterday to finally get my clutch parts for Putt Putt. We couldn't figure out my pressure plate as it was a larger diameter :? Bob then asked Dennis who is the old Jeep guru there. He immediately recognized that my weird looking pressure plate is actually a rare 4 cyl 9-1/4" HD clutch option!

This larger "Borg-Beck" pressure plate is actually not rare as it was common in heavier 1 ton Jeep trucks. What really makes it rare is my 4-cyl flywheel that is drilled to accomodate the bigger hardware. Dennis said it was a little known option back then mainly for the agriculture/farm Jeeps.

Dennis coached me through re-insallation tips like replacing my wasted pilot bushing and carrier bearing.

    Will be ready for Tellico!!

That's good! You just can't beat someone being able to just look at something old and know what's up.
