Would this be a good idea? i ask because i know someone with a hummer who is removing the 2 rear seats. they are bucket seats and look like they will be a nice fit as 2 front seats for my cj5. i've never had a vehicle with leather. i can deal with them being hot in the summer and cold in the winter. my biggest fear is getting the leather wet. i would of course put leather protector on them once a month and take good care of them. would i regret using leather?

Do they use leather in convertibles?

I would think that as long as you used a protectant, you'd be ok.

I've got leather seats in my '67. dark red. Yeah, there are hot in the sun, but I don't think they are as hot as vinyl...

I've got leather in mine. The chics dig it too -- well, ok, my wife thinks they are 'nice'.

Most domestic automotive leather is "top dyed" and sealed which won't absorb much water.

I've considered it myself but my ideas of seat upgrades are rapidly falling down the priority list. I'm thinking of early 90's GM minivan seats in leather. These were not very high back.
