Yeah, the Hurst Commandos are rare but not as rare as this.

They were a factory package. This wasn't.

I'd love to see this one myself!

Yeah but you gotta have ape arms to be able to reach that shifter. Prolly why they didn't make many of em. ;) :v6:

This thing is probably still sitting in Linda Vaughns driveway, one of the perks she got;). You know she still works for them as a rep!

I'm liking that color....with a white top and white wheels it'd be sharp.

I just realized those pictures were taken at raceway park in Indianapolis, I used to live not to far from there, actually in 1966 (when the picture was taken)I lived about 1/2 mile from there.

You know after doing a little searching thru some old car craft magazines I have from the 60's and 70's, this wasn't even built, that shifter was put into oldsmobile, Chevy's, Mopars and Fords. The only thing that made the Jeep special was the paint color maybe and the decals on the side, heck someone on this board could actually have this Jeep and not know it. The shifter was evidently moved from car to car and Hurst never made shifter back then to fit top shifted transmissions so the only thing on this Jeep was maybe a shift knob and decals along with the advertising gimmicks and the chrome bumper.
