Has anyone ever tried the high clearance u-bolt flip kits, such as the one offered by Dynatrac? I was wondering what other considerations need to be made when installing these, such as the shock mount for example. Thanks!

    I looked here: http://www.dynatrac.com/parts.htm

Do you know where there's a picture of the kit installed?

Seems like you could flip the u-bolts if you make new plates, top and bottom. You could call Dynatrac and ask them if the new plates keep the stock shock mount. From the page it seems they don't, so you'd have to weld on the shock mounts they provide.

I have something like these but gold anodized (bolts protected inside). Flipping may cause shock re-location and welding. This is a simple solution and I haven't been hung up with the additional 1" or so of plate.

    Features....
    • Bolt-on installation (some vehicles may require minor welding of included shock mounts)

That was listed a little further down on the link listed in the previous post.

I called the number listed on the web site for more info.....$159.00/pair

I asked him about the included shock mounts, and he said they were "shock mount bolts that they cut down a little bit". I don't exactly understand what he meant by that, but for that kind of money, I don't think I would want a bolt that they've cut. I also asked him how they account for the larger diameter lip of the differential housing on the passenger side of the DANA 30. He said the plate is drilled out to accomodate the lip and the holes are spaced appropriately just like stock u-bolt plates. It is a great idea, but for the options out there, and what each of those options cost, I think I'll go with U-bolt skid plates like the ones mentioned earlier in this thread.
