Help With Serial Number

    Can anyone tell me what year jeep ser. #8310 10895 is ?

    An 8310 prefix denotes a Perkins Diesel powered CJ5, I believe. I don’t have years for the serial, but they are out there to look up. The diesel CJ’s were only made for a handful of year in the early/mid -60’s.

    Hi Marvin-
    8310 denotes "open body diesel CJ-5". 10895 means it was the 895th unit built. The Perkins diesel CJ's had their own set of sequential numbers that do not line up with any other normal serial numbers from the CJ-5 production line. This link http://cj3b.info/Photos/SerialNumbers/SerialNosMonthly6567.gif shows it was built in March of 1967.
