Well, I'm running 4wheel disc now using jeep calipers in the front and metric GM calipers on the rear... master cylinder is from a chevette, and I have a preportioning valve setup for the chevette, and want to switch it to work with 4wheel disc. What all yall running on your 4wheel disc setups?

Most setups that I know of are running an adjustable valve on the rear brakes. If you want to stay with a set valve then go with a 70's corvette valve. 4-wheel disks, no antilock. Also look at going with the corvette master cylinder. it has equal size reservoirs for running disks all the way around.

Proportioning valves limit the amount of fluid pressure going to the rear brakes. There isn't much reason to have one on a vehicle with rear discs because it's not going to stop as well as it would without it (unless you have a problem with the rears locking up).

I have Chevy 1/2 ton calipers on the front and GM metric calipers on the rear. I have a master cylinder from a 68-69 Corvette without power assist. This master cylinder bolts up to the pedal assembly found in 72-75 CJs. If you would like a NAPA part number, let me know and I can dig it up for you. My Jeep doesn't drive so I can't vouch for how well it works just yet...

Cant do the corvette cylinder, but I was thinking of just removing the valve, if it locks em up, I can put on in.

I'm runnin standard chevy calipers front and rear on my jeep. I scored a vette m.c. from my old roomate and just used the stock jeep proportioning valve. I figured if it had same size drums front to back then it should bias the disc calipers just the same. So far works good! Nothing unpredictable about it. Starting to think about getting a booster for it though.
