I just purchased a 74 project and have a couple questions. Can I use the OMIX-ADA repo steel wheels on my 74? They have it listed to 71 but I don't really know what the differences are.

Want to go back to the stock, non tilt column. Is this part similar to the earlier models? Does anyone have a place to get one?

Thanks for helping out this mid CJ5 builder..

Wheels - probably not. The brakes on a '74 are larger than '71 or earlier.

Column, sorry, no. The earlier column uses a one piece steering shaft that is part of the Ross steering gear. Won't work. The postal column is more like what you want, but I'm not sure it's the same.

Here's a post that describes the postal columns. Postal Jeep Column Differences

Still looking for the column. I am also looking at ditching the 4" lift and getting the ride closer to stock. Should I start with stock shackles and see where that gets me? (Caster should be improved)
Any recommendations for stock or near stock height would be appreciated. Maybe, a 1" set of leafs????????????????
