image.jpeg Finally at my in-laws again in central Ca, so I've been tackling so issues. I had a serious flooding issue with my Holley 390 on my 231 V6. It actually leaked so bad it washed the cylinder walls and put a lot of fuel in crankcase. My friend, a Holley expert notice a part missing inside my rebuilt, used carb. It connects the main body to the metering block. So it poured into intake. I made one out of an old transfere tube. It fired right up, but now lacked oil pressure. I had already changed oil, so I suspected oil pump lost prime. I pulled it apart and packed gears with grease. I put it back together and once started it had good pressure. What a pain! But it runs great. I also built my seat brackets and mounted camero seats.

image.jpeg I also fabricated a backup switch. I used other guys ideas from site but changed it a bit. I used a micro switch and a relay. It will switch up to 5amps, but I thought might be near the upper limit of the switch. Both backup bulbs together pull 4.4 amps, so I added a relay. The only thing that concerns me is heat effects on the micro switch? I used thin aluminum to mount the switch, cut out with snips and cutoff wheel.

That must've been quite a lot of gas in the crankcase to lose prime!

Real bad! Probably a pint or more fuel drained out of pan. Thought I wrecked it. Very happy! Had to leave my jeep again. Won't be back to work on it until September.
