I have read good things about the OX though I have not looked into how they work on a deep level. Must do some studying and there are so many options.
My preference would be stand alone with no mechanical input even though there are positives for both. What configuration did you go with?

Experience and the confidence to let you hang around. Sounds like a win.

Finally got around to fixing this abysmal stencil/overspray job done by the PO. The spray paint overspray is probably 10+yrs old so I wasn't sure it would work..... but GoofOff, Q-Tips, and alot of patience paid off!

Wiring is almost done. All the misc wires that were randomly put through the firewall are now organized and fed thru connectors. I've reorganized the battery cables and will finish bundling the remaining wires soon.

I still need to do a little more cleanup under the dash. I have the same problem as in the "ignition switch sticky" thread. I used WD-40 and it helped just a little. The switch is kind of OK in the summer, but in the winter it gets really stiff. So to avoid disassembly I am going to patch in a push button "Start" switch.

Took JEEP over to muffler shop, was done in 4 hours, did a great job. Sounds good.

I put a Spintech muffler on, sounds pretty good. Have a video of it but can’t post.

Really like that and have been considering that routing. I don't want to do the loop thing under the front driveshaft and my rear seal drips just enough I don't want to smell it burning off.

So to get this straight, you’ve got passenger side making the forward turn to meet the drivers’ side? Headers point ( more or less) straight down?
Otherwise, very clean underside! Not just the new exhaust, but all of it!

Off topic, the “square” muffler brought to mind a story my Uncle told me. The dude that started “Coffin Mufflers” went to high school with my Uncle. He was always a hot rod dude like my Uncle. My Uncle said that the Coffin muffler dude told him that he had the vision while being evacuated from a Vietnam battlefield of a coffin shaped muffler and how it could be adapted to different conditions.
He made a really nice “memorial” miniature for my Uncle’s memorial service.

Duuude...that is nice! The whole thing is nice. I did a quick read of your build. It is back and you can move on to the next project.

    After 2 coats of POR-15:

I can’t leave well enough alone… last summer I put a fan shroud on the JEEP because I had a problem with temps rising when I was wheeling. I live in the Valley so numerous days above 100 degrees. JEEP normally runs right between 180-185 except when crawling or sitting at stop light, then temp starts climbing. When I took it up to Deer Valley Trail it was running a little warm running the HWY, (185-190) when I was on the trail it was running 200-220, but not boiling over. I am running the Champion CC7071 3 row radiator, with 180 degree thermostat and stock water pump. I’ve checked and reconfirmed timing and carb settings right spark plugs no air in system, all is good. I ran one of the Flowkooler water pumps on my last motor and had good results, so I dug in the shed and pulled it off the old motor. Looking at it, it had some pitting so I decided to order a new one. When I was looking on the web site I noticed that the impeller design was different than the one I have. Called Flowkooler and they explained they had re-designed the impeller to get better flow at speed and not just idle or just off idle, so I ordered a new one, waiting for it to come in. I doubled down and ordered an 14” electric pusher fan to mount to front of radiator. I’m going to use the thermostat off on switch, turning on at 185 turning off at 175. I’m going to wire in an override switch so I can turn it off when crossing water or not needed. now just waiting on parts to arrive. Also waiting on new mini starter and heat shields for fuel lines.

    pulled old water pump off.

looks like I have a leak in the intake manifold and valve covers. Ordered new gaskets, gonna pull this all apart and reseal everything.

I do have a couple questions:
1st- what temp thermostats are you running in your odd fire v6? I’ve been running 180 degree, FSM says 190 degree, parts stores also list 160 degree.
2nd-the 4 main bolts holding water pump on that go into the water jackets… do you use silicone or???

I run 190 degree thermostats and use ARP thread sealer: https://www.amazon.com/ARP-100-9904-1009904-Thread-Sealer/dp/B000CFQ38G

After letting the paint cure for a week, I finally got around to installing the freshly painted Oil bath Filter. Also, Thx to the user named 55_Willys_CJ5, I found a OE quality replacement for the crappy aftermarket air filter hose that was already cracking after 3 months. Its from a 2009-2011 Chevrolet Aveo.

Surprised you got as long as three months. Yet my originals are doing fine after 65 years. :banghead:

That is an absolutely gorgeous engine compartment. Very, very impressed. I hope mine looks half that good when I am done.
