Hi All, I did a search but came up with lots of un yielding results.
I got the old shackle bolts and rubber bushings out off the rear hanger. The opening in the frame hanger mount looks like there is a metal bushing in there. I have a new greasable metal bushing to install. Can the original one be removed? Any tricks - heating etc.? thank you

    As Timgr says.

Generally, brute force and ignorance will do the job.

I like to slit them with a oxy-acetylene torch or a sawzall. An air chisel or hand chisel can collapse them, too.

If you want to be more couth, build a pusher with thread rod, washers, pipe, and big sockets.

thanks guys! Can I use a hack saw blade to cut through it a few times then pry out? I don't have an air hammer. Yeah I have you tubed it but so many guys have so many more tools than I or they are taking a metal bushing out of the spring which is not even on the vehicle. Appreciate your time and ideas.

well its done... I set up a hack saw within the hole and cut through the barrel making sure to only minimally touch the actual
hanger wall. This did release the pressure and banging out the sleeve wasn't too bad at all. Thanks again folks.
