Yeah, I can never remember the name. I want to call them Wentworth at times. The old joke is that you hide your cigarettes behind them in your tool box so your wife doesn't know they are there. It's sort of like stuff in my 3/4" drive set. Everybody needs a 3 1/4" socket, don't they?

I use my 3/4" (and a couple 1") drive sockets with my press for items like balljoints. They work great as a backup "cup" when assembling or dis-assembling odd shaped parts.

Haven't pulled the gland nut on an air cooled VW recently, have you?

Many, many years ago. I rebuilt a old VW motor in an unheated garage in the winter. It's sort of like 1960willys cj5. Most of those sockets are used on a press now. A friend picked up my Harley this afternoon and he wants to trade his'74 Landcruiser for a '73 MG. At least he has the tools to work on it.
I think he has four Nortons, a Ural with a side car, two Honda race bikes and a BSA in his garage. I suppose a Harley in there now as well.
It was sort of a cluster F*ck this afternoon. Five people to load a bike on a car trailer? I used to load three in my box trailer by myself. I just sat back and watched the show. Five chiefs and no braves.

Well, that was one plan. About a month ago I pulled the fuel shut off valve off as it wasn't allowing gas to the carb, Harleys do that. A service guy told me to just disassemble it and put it back together. save yourself about $90 for a new part as they don't sell rebuild kits. I've had to do it twice over the years. Never found any problem in it, they just work again after(?)
The new owner showed up and dropped off his trailer and we spent a few hours at the airport checking out the B 25. Maid in the Shade. A couple of his friends are in the air crew. Home again and it is time to load the bike. I started it up and there is a gas leak. Not from the tank or shut off fitting? Only leaked when the motor was running. I don't know. It was hot and I wasn't going to dig into it to figure it out. Maybe the float stuck in the carb and it is running out of the overflow tube. Used to happen in my old Yamahas all the time. Tap them with the handle of a screwdriver. We ended up in the shade at a neighbors house, Dennis was having a beer and I had to tell him everything that was done to the bike and when, If I could remember the year. He knew who did the work on the heads, cylinders and helped me with the cam, I didn't know the name of the guy who did the carb. I gave him another pair of stock mufflers and a couple bags that fit over the backrest. All of my leathers are too large for him but he tried to get away with my rain suit. Sort of an ugly black and orange genuine HD suit. Yeah it has a HD logo on it so it was about $300. He plans to ride it to Canada this summer. It should be something like an Iron Butt event. I rode it about 12 hours one day and could barely walk later.
It was the first bike I ever bought, 1998. I wasn't even a legal rider then.
So, a one owner bike with about 15,000 miles on it, Maybe 10,000 after the motor work. I don't think I will miss it. I do miss my dirt bikes.
    Sorry, this isn't about Jeeps
