For what it's worth Nick, it doesn't bother me at all to hear your opinion on the Grizzly or anything else, positive or negative. You've always had good solid advice for me and normally when I have an issue I come here and holler "Hey Nick!".

Also...money wasn't really the issue for me. My drivetrain guy used to deal in Detroit stuff, but took on the Yukon line and he says there was some grief from Detroit. They wanted him to sell strictly Detroit stuff and because of that I think they kicked him to the curb...or maybe it was the other way around.

The recommendation my dt shop gave me wasn't based on price. The owner of the shop said he thought they were actually better than the Detroit. He said he'd been running one in a 3/4 ton truck for over a year. Of course I'm sure he would say that considering he can't sell the Detroit stuff any more.

but...he can buy the rebuild parts and was in the process of doing so when he realized I was about to spend as much on rebuild parts as he could sell me the new locker for...but...it was the Grizzly and not the Detroit.

And...while i'm guessing the air locker has plastic engagement parts, I don't think the Grizzly locker does. At least I couldn't find anything on-line about it or in any of the literature I glanced at.

Either way...I don't really wheel this jeep anymore anyway. Just cruise in it. I had stock axles in the front and one of them broke and I think that must have been what broke the Detroit.

I figure this thing will hold up for what little bit of off-roading I do, so long as the axle doesn't break and for that I've upgraded to stronger axles so hopefully I'll be OK. If not...Que Sera
