Another engine question

Here's another engine swap question. Found a Dauntless V6 that's in a boat. The thing is it's just been rebuilt, blueprinted and completely documented. As far as I can see from the pictures everything visible looks standard (except for the fan etc). Has anyone run across this before? Can I put this in my jeep? (1967 CJ5)
I need a motor and this is the best thing I've seen pop up.

I don't know. But check that it rotates the same way. Some boat engines are reversed for twin engine installations.

 

First I ever heard of a Dauntless in a boat! I'll bet it's from a Jeep and was converted to the boat. That would be cool - convert it back!

 

Nope, they were standard boat engines, I had an OMC manual for them for a long time and you can find videos and info all over the net for these boat engines, they used them from like 1967-68 thru the 231 changeover and maybe later.

 

Nice to learn that. Thanks. Well, guess with the higher HP the Dauntless has, and it's lighter weight it could be an excellent power plant in certain boats.
