Not sure if this is the best place to post this but hear goes anyway. I have a '54 m38a1 but the seats are terrible, and I would like to replace them with some early CJ5 seats. I think early seats should fit ok. I have a set of later cj5 adjustable seat frames, but they put the seats up too high and my head is over the windshield frame. I can't seem to locate new early cj5 seats with frames anywhere. Anyone know of a source for early seats/frames?
    Thanks!

Common question here, lot of info if you search the archive.

That period had one-piece integrated seat frames. I think you'd have to find used seats, and probably they will need springs and upholstery. Scarce, and expensive when it is all added up.

I have an M38A1 with new foam cushions and canva covers. They are not bad, although certainly smaller and more spartan than civilian seats.

In my '57 CJ5 I have low-back Smittybilts, mounted on custom bases to get them as low as possible. The windshield height will always be a factor, but I like the Smittys a lot.
