I would like opinions on which coil make and model you are running with your Pertronix? What resistance should be installed to avoid the ballast resistor?

    Thanks

I am running the Flamethrower coil with an electronic distributor I ordered from Quadratec to replace the old centrifugal advance distributor. The combination works well, it seems. I am still using the ballast resistor, as I don't have a coil with the internal resistor. I have never measured the value, but if you have a multimeter, you could measure it and then tell the techs from whom you are ordering what the value is, and maybe they can help you. I don't know, but I doubt the ballast resistor numbers changed over the years that the F134 was being used. This is my personal experience, but I have my jeep on jackstands, waiting for brake lines, which are finally on their way. As such, I have sat in it and gone through the gears, etc. just to make sure that all the things I rebuilt are working as they should be, and the acceleration with this setup seems to be much better than it was as I got it. Of course, the 2-bbl downdraft Weber I installed might have something to do with that. The question that hasn't been answered yet is how it will perform when the Jeep is offroad. Don't know if this helps you or not, but it is all I have to offer. Later...
