Yeah, the plates in ID belong to you, not the car. I can tell the DMV to assign them to a different vehicle and it’s a minor fee.

Washington just made that change too. You now own your plates. I registered my new truck and used my old trucks plates. So only the VIN number is different...

Here you can transfer plates to a new vehicle only if you sell the previous one first

I had to run out to the icy mud pit called Pull and Save yesterday to grab a part for my MIL’s car. While I was there, I snagged an axle shaft to replace the wobbly passenger’s side in the jeep. They charged me for the backing plate… I’ll pull that off and return it.

Close. It’s the “super” 44 from a late model Rodeo. Troopers had their in-house “12 bolt” axles (no relation to chevy’s 12 bolt).

My spare parts kit is nearly complete.

Fireball came up last weekend and we hit the local yard. They didn’t have what he was looking for, but they actually had more than what I was looking for.

There was a Volvo 740 that was only one year off from what my donor was.

We grabbed a spare air horn, ignition module, fuel pump relay, fuel pump with factory pigtails, injectors, and a yoke so I can make another spare like the one I swapped in Moab.

That should get me out of nearly any bind that is repairable on the trail.

I haven’t seen a 240 there in years. The inventory list says there’s one in the Mead location, but it doesn’t say what color.

It was a great day walking around the wrecking yard looking at and blabbing about cars!

The pick and pull in my area has frequent shopper cards....you get a discount when you show it at the cash register.

My wife almost hurt herself from laughing when I told her.....

I'm beginning to agree with you on the Swampers. I am already tired of my Swamper noise. They work well off road but I will go back to an aggressive all terrain or mild mud terrain radial tire next go around. I will say, my Swampers have been very round and didn't take much weight to balance but the noise is ungodly now. They made the Jeep less enjoyable to drive.

Totaly agree about the fact that swamper are bad for the road....but for offroad there is almost nothing that can beat them IMO

IMO, depends greatly on the size of the swampers, and the terrain. Big, wide ones in mud are awesome; they float while propelling you forward. Small ones in mud are horrible. They’re like rototiller blades. Dry rock, there are many better choices. YMMV

I have tall skinny Swampers, if they can find something solid, they will, but my Jeep has to do many things well, which the Swampers don't. My own fault, I have owned them before, but my rose colored glasses were on remembering the old days, when I was less fussy.

Yes it has to be balance with the ride you put them on.

I run 36 12.5 r15 tsl bias and they are just about right in every type of trail i use them (snow, mud, rock and sometime combination of everything ahah).

Ime they are very stiff regardless of psi. Great mudders, poor off-road outside of that no " footprint" even at low single digit psi on 2500lb jeep

I finally got around to changing out the axle shaft from a few posts above.

New one is straight as an arrow. I worried that the junkyard shaft would be as bad (or worse) than the one I was replacing, but it’s all good!
