headlights /no park lights?

Hello ,
Quick question .Done a little searching on here.So..
From factory -while headlights on -park lights do not work. all others work accordingly
Is this correct?
Im just finishing up a full wire redo on my 66cj5
Alls gone good ,just no running/park lights in front while hl 's on.
My good god what a good ground (s ) does.
Horn is louder ,lights are brights,gauge etc..There were so many twists and quick fix crap everywhere amazing it's lasted.

My park lights also turn off when headlights on. Don't think it's a problem though

 

​Parking lights are not supposed to be on with headlights in older jeeps.

 

There was an extra terminal built into the headlight switch to accommodate this feature. My thinking is that the engineers figured you could not see the front park lights anyway with the headlights on so why have the extra drain. If you so desire to have them on with the HL then move the wire on the switch from the front park position and double up on the tail light terminal.

 

Mine come on with my headlights, but I wired them to do so at the light switch. Since my Jeep is orange, even though the lenses are clear, I put 1157 amber bulbs in the sockets. Looks good. If you are trying to keep the original look then don't do what I did.

 

Mine have come on with the head lights since new...

 

Chris you are correct and 1 generation newer that our 66's which were not to have running lights up front on like Walt said
