    One of the best combos I have had was a 225, t98, d18 with 4.27 gears in a 71 CJ5 with saginaw power steering and a disk brake Dana 30. Loved to drive that one and would still have it today if it wasn't a total rust bucket.

    Yes that's a decent combo but the 4.89 with Warn O.D. provides a much better gear range than 4.27 without O.D.
    A T18 / 2.46 / 25% O.D. / 4.89 drivetrain ranges from 3.66 cruise to 76 .33 crawl.
    A T98 / 2.46 / 4.27 drivetrain ranges from 4.27 cruise to 67.39 crawl.

    The 3.66 cruise ratio puts the Dauntless RPM at optimum torque efficiency when traveling at 59 MPH.
