    What "media" did you use to blast it? (Looks like sand/grit?)

    That's why I asked what you used.

    Never done it but I believe some types of blast media are supposed to put more of a polish on the metal. Plastic resins, or soda, maybe?

    Researching online it appears these carbs were zinc chromate plated with a black throttle valve. I don't want to spray a finish on it to simulate the zinc just to have it dissolve when gas gets on it so I painted the throttle valve and I'm just going to polish the carb a bit
