What exactly is the point of swedged on drums?

    Yeah, gotta wonder about the manufacture quality.

    I have had good luck regrinding old exhaust valve stems as punches.

    My studs drove out pretty easily. With a stout punch and a 4-pound hammer, they were loosened on the first strike. Two or three more, lesser, strikes took them out.

    I drove from the inside out, leaving all of the threaded portion intact. A deep socket makes a good ‘anvil’ on a concrete floor. In my case, I used pieces of 2x4 to block up the hub, without the socket.

    Truth be told i just ordered 2 new
    hubs.
    The holes were wollowed out on the one I took off, assuming the other side will have the same problem.
