I know that the dimensions change a little in 1976 but I thought that from 1976 -1985 CJ's used fiberglass top? I recently found a 1976 with a metal top and sure enough it is the right year.

    Any help?

At first I thought it was listed wrong. That maybe it was a 75 but listed as 76 but its not. Its a 76 or later cj5. The guy said it was the original top that was ordered for it. idk.,

The Meyer steel cabs for '76-on exist. They are clearly different from the earlier ones. They change the length of the "lid" and have fillers for the space beside the windshield. Jeep Approved Special Equipment.

Supposedly most cabs you see for '76-on Jeeps are Acme, and they are fiberglass.
