Sorry, having a little difficulty picturing what you're talking about, can you identify it in this drawing?

I didn't think it was threaded? shouldn't it be a washer-like plug with a tube soldered to it that's probably about 5 inches tall(just guessing on the length)?

think he is talking about the bottom of number 1. think he is referring to the hole and plug that the horn wire goes through and up the steering column

Yes , I am referring to plug in bottom of number 1 . Hole is threaded , and I would guess about 5/8 , or 11/16 inch.
    Thanks

If you are talking about the little square head plug seen on top of the box in this picture, it is just a pipe plug, i can't remember what size, 1/8 npt, or 1/4 npt, or 3/8 npt. You can get them at any hardware store.

OK, what you should have if everything is stock is part #8 -

This doesn't thread in, it's a press fit. You may have a military version of the steering box- they have a threaded something-or-other in the bottom instead of the civvy plug/tube-

Thank you for the pics , Howard , the bottom 2 pictures show the exact set-up that I have . This " CJ " has an M38A1 tub on it . I'm finding as I
dig more into it some parts are CJ , and some are M38A1 . Any ideas on the plug , or bolt it shows going into the housing to the extreme right side ?
