When it was cold, I had some problems to stay at idle then to accelerate.
So I changed the spark plugs, and I waited for spring.
I asked to the forum, and many answers were about the Solex carb, which doesn't like cold weather.

Today, first day of nice weather (and last one by the way, winter comes back) so I started the Jeep and - miracle- no problem.

I had just to wait some minutes to have the engine at minimum level temperature.

The proof is here, at my neighbour's farm.

    I am happy.

But : what is the solution if I want to use my Jeep in winter? Change the carburation - less rich/ more rich???

Woohoo Alan! I like the photo you gave us.

You should see how much snow is still on the ground here ...

Can't help you with the carburetor problem.

Mine just needed some time to warm up before it would run good Alan. It doesnt have a choke but it has an enrichment instead. It works similar to a choke but it lets more gas thru so it runs richer. The end results are the same

Same here, engine temperature is the key. Generally, when it is cold out the older, simpler engines need to be thoroughly warmed up before they will run good. It gets cold enough here at times to be an issue, so it is definitely more of a problem in colder climates. Other than that, there is not really anything that I know of one can do. The flathead 226 in my wagon refuses to run good till it's thoroughly warmed up if it is cold weather time, and it has a Carter YF.
