I ordered a brake kit from Omix and it arrived with two 6" inch hoses and one 11" hose for the front. On my 62 both front sides have identical 11" hoses, from the frame to the cylinder.

Omix says I'm supposed to have the shorter hoses.

The 6" hoses are probably for the early setups using the steel line on the axle housing feeding to a short flex line over each knuckle to the brake cylinder, and the 11" hose ran from the frame down to the steel line on the axle housing. I'm not sure when that setup changed to the steel line on the crossmember feeding to 11" lines to the wheel cylinders.
