    It's actually '72-86.

There may be some minor differences, like holes in the wrong place or missing on the inner fender. But they are all basically the same.

Tim, wasn't there a difference in the shock tower placement somewhere in there?

The shock moved behind the axle in '72, and there is a notch to clear the top shock mount. I don't think it changes a lot from then on. The '76-on shock mounts are a little different, so the notch in the fender could change. Pretty sure the shocks don't change for the wide track axles, since they use the same pin-in-the-spring-plate mount as earlier years. There are many DIY raised shock tower projects that use Ford truck or Wagoneer shock mounts - not sure if those need fender cutting. I think they do not, since the mount is applied to the outside of the frame.

Yes what is posted above is correct. I am in the process of placing fenders on my 74 CJ5 that are from an 80's CJ. All the holes line up at body and grill side but the cut outs for the shocks (if you use the stock location) are further towards the front of the fender in the later year fenders. I will have to make a modification cut to fit the shocks in. Nothing a body saw cannot handle. The pre 72 have a shorter hood and fenders by aprox 3" I believe and will not work. I hope this helps.
