    Sitting in a junkyard right now lookung a t a 73 cj5
I'm wondering if the crossmember on this will fit my 69 cj5?
Has a different transfer case and I can't make out what the transmission is but it looks to be a T14.. Which I might want also. The 73 also has an I6 while my 69 has the V6.
I realize I would have to change mounting points on the crossmemeber itself but other than that are the two inter changeable?

Sorry for being long winded, just trying to get out as much infi as I can

    Hi -

Re the cross member, I believe it will work, but it's probably not the same as the one your Jeep came with. Likely it has different holes in it or places for mounts. Length and shape will be the same. The PN for that cross member is 5350709.

    A '73 with a six is a T-14. A T-14 will have "13-02-..." cast into the side of the case, or "T14A".

Crown sells a new input shaft for the T-14, PN 991059, which is a Kaiser era PN. And my parts book shows a '74-75 T-14 uses that part. But that's puzzling, because the AMC and stickouts should be different for the two applications. Make sure this transmission will work for you before you buy it -

Will do Tim, They only want $18 for the crossmember so I'll grab it regardless. I'll do a little research on the trans before I pull it out in the morning. I pulled the top off it and it looks real good inside so hopefully I can make it work.
