Probably basic info for most but i have never had a vehicle with this type of lock out set-up. Can you guys explain how they work?

Does it need to be removed to remove the drum? And if so, what's the procedure?

Should I replace them with a Warn set-up? But I'd like to keep it original.

    thanks

The shafts with the levers have notches that clear the inners when turned one way or don't when turned the other.

If they haven't been beat on with a hammer they will function just fine.

Wow my dad had the same hubs on his Jeep. I like the old school look.

they are dualmatic locking hubs i think. I have the same ones. they work fine. there is a gear inside that is splined to fit over the axle shaft and the 2 levers turn a cam to lock or unlock. they work really well with the 10 spline outers. I no longer use mine because I have a dana 30 axle.

Thanks guys. It doesn't look like theres too many parts inside for me to booger up. Looks like the 6 bolts and remove.

I need to remove them to rebuild the brakes.
