Why is it that you cant use the narrow track 30 caliper mounts, rotors and calipers on the d27/d30 closed knuckles? I got a complete narrow track laying her eI took apart for the rotors and bolted mounts and all on my closed 30, but yet these parts are not listed in a disc swap?

They can be, you can use the dana 30 setup from the 77-78 1 1/8" disk/caliper setup on the dana 25/27. But if you have the dana 30 other than originality why would you want to put this on the dana 27 over putting in the dana 30. The setup would be expensive to buy piece parts and the dana 30's are getting harder to find, alot of guys use this setup but the Chevy setup is so much easier to find parts for.

Not on a 27, its on a fullwidth dana 30 closed knuckle, and was a direct swap... Ive got 3 complete sets of narrow track 30's and 44's... with more on the way, none of them cost me a dime and are complete.... certianly alot cheaper than chevy caliper mounts...

Count yourself very lucky, it took me 2 years find a decent one, I got a good price at $150 for my dana 30 out of a 77 cj5.
