Springs shot??

    I have been digging into my 68 jeep project. When i got under it I found that the front axle was not locking up. After some looking the Right front hub was the wrong one. So prob 1 solved.
    Front driveshaft was missing when purchased.
    While I was under there I sawthat the front pinion does not line up with the output on the TC. In looking at it it appears that it is shifted about 3 inches further to the passanger side than the TC. It appears that if a shaft were installed that it would likely contact the sarter and definately would under compression... So are my springs just worn out or do I have a bigger issue??

    OH dana 27 front 231 buick, and D18 t case.

    Hard telling w/out pics, but 3 inches would be extreme. Do you have a d/s to use to line it up?

    I need to find one. The only spare I had laying around the house was to long.
