Have been searching for the last couple of months and can not find an answer, my 62 cj5 is a great mostly original survivor, it has not been modded, molested, or rode hard over its life, so my intentions are to keep it as stock or stock looking as possible so I guess if you could classify it a resto-mod and not a pure restoration. I'm keeping the ross steering box (gonna add a tight steer adjuster) and bell crank but the springs are really, REALLY tired. Not a huge fan of the omix stuff (i have reservations about their build quality), and they seem to be the only 'stock' type replacements I can find. On a couple of my previous vehicles I've used BDS products so the 2.5 lift they offer has my hard attention. My question is, does this lift raise the suspension to a point that you need to worry with excessive bump or roll steer and/or do the tie rods need to be flipped on the knuckles to be able to correct the toe adjustment? Also did anyone need to make caster changes? I wont say it will never see an offroad trail, it is a Willys and the dirt is the natural habitat of the Jeep, but it will not go in deep mud or over big rocks. I've got too much respect for her to do that, so tire size and big ground clearance are not concerns. Any other suppliers that offer a stock spring or minimal lift with decent ride? And if I posted this in the wrong forum I apologize. I value input from the trailblazers that have gone before me! Show me the path.
