Is a OEM replacement suspension worth it? Other options?

I have a 62 thats all original and Im wanting to bring the suspension ride and height back up to where it was in its glory days. I was thinking about going with a BDS 2.5 lift, but Im not really looking to lift it. It does have a Meyers steel top which maybe has caused it to sag over the years to sag in the rear. Most likely the old girl won't see much off-road action, maybe some local trails and running kids around.

    I was thinking a OEM replacement set-up, the heavy-duty version (10 & 9 leafs).

Is it worth the money to do this? Do the 2.5 lift? Or other options to get it back? Helper leafs?

    Thanks guys

There is plenty of coverage with the BDS 2.5" lift at this site.
In short - it is an incredible improvement over stock and you will not regret buying it.
    Replace your frame bushings, too.
I've had mine 8 years now, and still love it.

Yep, I have read nothing but good things about the BDS set up, Im just not sure I want to lift it.
Id like to keep the original 15" steel wheels which are only 5 inches wide so tire selection is limited.
I don't want to get into driveline angles, dropping the t-case, pitman arm, etc.

With the 2.5" lift you won't get into an issue with driveline angles or having to lower the t-case.

How about the 1" lift springs, if they are still available. Thought rancho had them but, you'll have to check. Could be a nice compromise. Not sure how they would respond to the HT, over time.

I used the 1" Ranchos when I first built my CJ. They rode really rough, even by CJ standards.
I'm much happier with my 2.5" BDS springs

Ive got the bds lift and it seems good so far. Havent driven it much. I still have 30" tires on the 15" rims and it doesnt look bad with the smaller tires.

When I had wimpy I bought new stock springs front and back with new shocks and bushings. The ride was good with the stock ride. I dont know the price difference but eitther way it was way better than the bad springs and shocks

Thanks everyone for responses and I hope you are all having a great Thanksgiving.
Termin8ed, do you have any photos of your Jeep with the 15" rims and lift?

    Thanks Termin8ed, looking good.

Not sure what Im going to do. From the research Ive done most are saying the OEM replacement kits (Omix-Ada, and Crown) are not good quality, don't fit right.

Not sure I want to go 2.5 or Superlift offers a 1" kit.
