Working on a 76 CJ5 4.2L, Manual. Just bought it, many little issues. Thought my left sealed beam headlight was burned out, but turned out to be just a dirty connector. When replacing the lamp, retaining ring and trim ring the lamp and trim ring are skewed about 10 degrees from vertical. The right lamp is lined up vertically. Did not pay attention to orientation before I pulled the lamp. Can't see anyway that a PO could have incorrectly removed and replaced the socket housing. Is this left headlamp supposed to be skewed off of vertical ?

While you're at it you may want to take the fender skirt mounted ground wires and run 'em back to the Negative terminal of the battery. Sheet metal is a poor conductor of electricity and in the circuit the Positive and Negative flow works better when they equate. Additionally if you choose, you may consider running a pair of relays for the headlights so they have full battery power, then go to the H4's, that is if you haven't done so already.
