Does anyone know where I can buy the little screw that holds the points in distributor for a 55 CJ-5.
Removed a few months ago, moved into shop, can't find.

    Thanks

Should be an 8-32 or something like that, any good hardware store should have a drawer full of them.

That's what I was thinking, probably a number 8. Make sure you get a few and put them with your spare points kit. You do have one, right? ;)

Any reason an Allen screw couldn't be used there? Seems like that would be a good place for one.

Thanks for the help. No I don't have a spares kit. But will now. Picked up the jeep at a yard sale last summer and parked it while I've been building a house. Hope to get free time soon to start working on minor mechanical issues.

Great idea. The screw slots always seem to get buggered.
Except it's one more special tool you have to carry, and probably wouldn't have out when you need it on the trail
