    All the VDO gauges i have been around had to use VDO senders only.

    You need to use the senders for the VDO gauges.

    Why not just use mechanical gauges?

    My gauges in the '60 are mechanical, (excepting the amp gauge for obvious reasons). You don't have to worry about grounding problems with the electrical system. Which might not do electrical gauges because the system is marginal anyway.

    I already had the gauges from another "project", so was looking for the simplest way to make use of them
