Engine Serial number

    my L head 134 on my 48 cj2a has a serial number JXXXXXX shouldn't it instead be a 3JXXXXXX does that missing number 3 in front mean something? like remanufactured motor or something? I can read all numbers easily so I don't think I am simply not seeing that number im pretty sure its not there?

    3J is from a 3A. 4LR is remanufactured or factory replacement I think. I think 2A engines had a prefix of 2A or CJ2A.
