Quick gas cap question

    Does anyone know what year the case cap changed sizes? I have a tank beneath the seat on my 74 that the PO put in. it needs a new cap but I have no idea what year to look for. It is larger than the one on the rear any ideas what year yo look for?

    That is what I had read for when the tank moved but when I asked the parts guy for a 68 cap he gave me one that fit my 74... maybe I just need to try a new parts place.

    Yep. He gave you the wrong part.

    Looking at RockAuto, it may be that the listings are messed up. jeep PN 640594.

    The cap doesn't change '55-'69, so just ask for an older year.
