I removed the cover from the rear differential on my 3A yesterday and have a question about the small upper spider gear. I can move it up and down about 1/8". I'm pretty sure this is not supposed to happen. None of the other spider gears have any slop. Can someone confirm whether or not this is a big deal? If so, what's the best way to deal with it?

Tough to get good pics in there. You can see a washer on top of the gear. I think there's supposed to be a conical thrust washer there right? This doesn't look conical but I can't see enough of it to tell.

I am including a video too. It's blurry but it at least shows the amount of play.

Mine have a little slop in them but it should be even between the two, if it isn't all the force is being taken by one gear.

Yes there's supposed to be conical thrust washers in there, when I had mine apart the washer center holes had been worn into large ovals

I've decided today to pull it apart for a rebuild. I'll replace the spider gears and washers while I'm in there.
