Has anyone ever seen manual locking hubs like pictured below?

My grandfather said a guy he worked with in the 70's fabbed these up. They won't fit my current wheels but, the originals they're dead nuts!

Also, is there a way to test this alt? I don't know the model or anything so, I"m not sure if one of the local joints could hook it up and test it.

I think it's high time I start a build thread....because although there are no stupid questions, I'm going to be searching for and asking a lot of them!

Never saw hubs like that before. Looks like a Delco alternator. Any parts store should be able to test it.

Yeah, the hubs I didn't think anyone would be able to chime in on but, I thought i'd post that anyways! They're pretty neat, and my grandfather ran them from 72-90 so, that's good enough for me.

Delco-Remy - it's from a 1967 Corvette apparently. The first shop I took it to, the guy at the counter said he couldn't test it because he needed "to have the code to put into the machine" which seemed confusing to me but, hey...whatever. I took it to another shop, and I walked through the door and the guy behind the counter told me everything I needed to know in a few minutes. The make/model, manufacture date, and where it had come from. Along with that, he took a look at the pulley and said it wouldn't work because there wasn't a spacer to create enough tension. He then told me to sell it on Ebay/Craigslist for $50 and buy a new one with that money! He was a character, that's for sure. I'll probably be going back to his store often.

Like to see what is inside those hubs?.................Those covers kinda look like a wet "oil" hub cover for a trailer..............

It doesn't seem like there would be anything else to them.
