I have the jeep at work and I was going to put the OD on. When I grabbed the output gear for the trans that is in the transfer case, it pushed in a good 1/4". Can someone verify for me that there is supposed to be a shim that goes between the rear case bearing and the output gear? if I'm thinking right it is about a 1/4 thick? might be about 1/2" larger diameter than the output shaft?

Hopeing I'm correct so I can run home on lunch and see if I still have it on my toolbox somewhere.

    Brian,
Here is a photo of my T-14.
There is a spacer that goes between the bearing and the output gear. Is This what you are refering to ?

can't see it on work computer...
I'll check on my phone but thats probably it. I have no spacer right now.

...found what I was looking for.8) luckily I stuck it in my toolbox at some point and not in some box that got tossed.

Now to see what else can go wrong
